Rapid Prototype PCB & System Assembly

Our dedicated prototype surface mount production line is configured for rapid production of small batches. Whether a complex SMT or conventional leaded technology PCB or system Ultra Cambridge can, subject to material availability, produce between 1 off and 5 off in only a day or two, with larger batches taking up to 5 days. To aid material procurement over very tight timescales we encourage our clients to ‘grow’ bills of materials with us such that we can start procuring long lead items at the earliest opportunity.

Small Volume Assembly

Using a second production line Ultra Cambridge provides a scheduled full service production capability for the less urgent requirements, incorporating SMT and conventional PCB assembly, cable and mechanical assembly and test. In addition the Ultra CEMS plant in Weymouth provides a rich blend of small volume assembly services on a larger scale.

Global Supply Chain Development

Ultra has the experience to develop a managed global supply chain from an early stage of product development, focused on cost control, availability and reliability. Using the Ultra CEMS Global Supply Chain team and Ultra Group purchasing leverage, we can develop optimum supply solutions for any product. Relationships have been developed with proven responsive small quantity fast delivery vendors for rapid prototype requirements.

Engineering Support Services

Ultra Cambridge engineering staff can draw on many years experience of advising customers on the optimisation of their designs for cost effective manufacture and test. Engineering services offered will include:

Test Engineering

Ultra Cambridge can provide a full test strategy development service, having experienced test engineering staff and in-house flying probe test capability. Crypto Custodian Roadmap

Ultra Manufacturing in Weymouth has been a Crypto custodian for many years and Ultra’s Cambridge operation will achieve the same status at an early opportunity.

Within its first few weeks of business Ultra's Rapid Prototype Assembly operation in Cambridge has achieved ISO14001 Environmental accreditation and during forthcoming weeks will gain accreditation to ISO9001:2008 and Aerospace AS9100.
